Support Baby Nicholas Lind in His Fight Against Childhood Cancer

Nicholas Lind

We are asking our community to come together in support of Nicholas Lind, the young son of Justin R. Lind, a DPS Officer II with the Nevada State Police, Division of Parole and Probation, and his wife, Nicole.

At just 10 months old, Nicholas was taken to the emergency room after weeks of persistent fever and concerning symptoms. During imaging, doctors discovered multiple masses in his liver. He was immediately admitted for further testing, and during a biopsy procedure, it was revealed that he had a significant internal bleed and a large tumor.

Shortly after, Nicholas was diagnosed with stage 3 hepatoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood liver cancer.

The Fight So Far

Since February, Nicholas has been undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment. What was initially hoped to be an outpatient process quickly changed, as his condition required him to remain hospitalized. He has now been in the hospital continuously, fighting through each round of treatment with incredible strength.

Despite the challenges, Nicholas has begun his fourth cycle of chemotherapy and is responding well. Following this phase, doctors will determine the next step—either surgical removal of part of his liver or placement on the transplant list.

What Comes Next

No matter the outcome, Nicholas will be transferred to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) for specialized care. Current discussions suggest that a liver transplant may be the most likely path forward.

If a transplant is required, Nicholas will face:

  • At least one month of inpatient care following surgery
  • A minimum of three additional months of outpatient monitoring
  • An extended stay in Los Angeles, requiring his mother to be away from home for several months

Throughout this time, Nicholas’ parents are balancing the needs of their family, including caring for their two young sons at home, ages 4 and 6, while remaining by Nicholas’ side.

How Your Support Helps

This journey has brought significant emotional and financial strain. Funds raised will help the Lind family with:

  • Ongoing medical expenses and treatment costs
  • Travel and extended lodging in Los Angeles
  • Support for their family while Nicholas receives care away from home
  • Everyday living expenses during this extended medical crisis

Nicholas continues to fight every single day with remarkable strength. His resilience has become a source of hope for his family as they navigate an uncertain and ever-changing path forward.

Please consider donating or sharing his story to help support Nicholas and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
