We are asking our community to come together in support of Austin White, the infant son of LVMPD Officer Justin White and his wife, Ashley.
Justin has served with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for 21 years and currently works in the Events Planning Section, also known as EPS. When a gathering is designated as a Major Event, EPS leads the planning, coordination, and execution of operational plans that help ensure a safe and secure environment for the public. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but it plays a critical role in protecting millions of visitors, hundreds of events, and the broader Southern Nevada community each year.
Now, Justin and Ashley are facing a very different kind of emergency within their own family.
During Ashley’s pregnancy, she experienced serious complications that kept her away from home for months. After her first major bleed occurred while she was in New Jersey, doctors told her she could not safely fly back to Nevada. She remained away from home for two months before delivery.
Baby Austin’s birth required an extremely complex surgery. Although the delivery was successful, Ashley lost a significant amount of blood, and the extent of the surgery has made her recovery longer and more difficult.
Austin is now receiving care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where his family is learning that his medical needs are more complex than first expected. What was initially believed to be a cardiac issue that could be corrected through a catheter procedure has become a much longer and more complicated medical journey.
Justin, Ashley, and baby Austin are now facing months away from home as they focus on giving Austin the best chance at a healthy future and strong quality of life. While they are grateful to have family support nearby in New Jersey, the financial strain of being away from Nevada, managing medical care, travel, lodging, and daily expenses continues to grow.

- Support for Ashley’s recovery following a difficult delivery
Justin has spent more than two decades helping keep our community safe through work that often goes unseen. Now, his family needs the support of the community he has served for so many years.
