When members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department face life’s toughest moments, we stand together.
Today, Behind the Blue is asking our law enforcement family and our community to rally around LVMPD Logistics Department employee Darius Solis and his family during an unimaginable medical crisis.
Darius has proudly served with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for the past two years. He is a devoted husband and father to a 14-year-old son who are now facing an uncertain road ahead.
What began as surgery on Darius’ hepatic duct quickly became a life-threatening medical emergency. Since his procedure, he has experienced numerous severe complications, including:
- Serious infections
- A collapsed lung
- Sepsis
- Internal bleeding
- Multiple additional medical complications
Darius remains in the Intensive Care Unit, where he continues to fight every day. While his medical team focuses on his recovery, his family is facing mounting financial pressures and the uncertainty that comes with an extended hospitalization.
