We invite our community to come together in celebration of the life of Michael “Mike” Andersen, a beloved husband, father, friend, and dedicated member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department family.
Mike served with the LVMPD Radio Shop for nearly 30 years and was preparing for retirement next month after a career spent helping keep officers and first responders connected and safe. The Radio Shop team installs, maintains, and repairs the department’s critical communications and emergency equipment throughout Clark County. From programming radios and maintaining communication networks to servicing mountain-top repeater sites, Mike’s work played an essential role in supporting public safety every day.
Beyond his career, Mike was known for his kindness, humor, generosity, and adventurous spirit. He was someone who always showed up for others, whether through mentorship, friendship, or simply lending a helping hand whenever it was needed. He deeply loved the outdoors and cherished spending time with his family, friends, and those closest to him.
Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Tanya, his daughter, Riley, and a family who loved him deeply. Mike and Tanya shared 25 years of marriage together, building a life centered around love, family, and service to others.
Through both his work with LVMPD and his support of Behind the Blue, Mike dedicated his life to helping people and strengthening the community around him. This fundraiser is an opportunity to honor his memory, celebrate the incredible impact he made, and support his loved ones during this difficult time.
Funds raised through this campaign will help support Mike’s family and further the mission of Behind the Blue in continuing to assist law enforcement families and employees during times of hardship and need.
