Sienna LaPolla is a bright, joyful three-year-old who has already overcome incredible challenges in her young life. Born with Down Syndrome, she underwent heart surgery shortly after birth to repair a congenital heart defect. Now, she faces a new and devastating battle: B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)—a type of blood cancer that will require aggressive and prolonged treatment.
Her father, Detective Daniel LaPolla, has served the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department with honor for the past eight years, working out of the Spring Valley Area Command. Like many of our officers, he has given his career to protecting our community—and now we have an opportunity to stand behind him and his family.

Sienna’s treatment began with an immediate, month-long hospital stay, where chemotherapy was delivered through a chest port and into her spine via regular lumbar punctures. Because children with Down Syndrome often experience more intense side effects and complications, her treatment plan will likely span up to three years.
