Please Help Officer Michael Renteria’s Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer

OFFICER MICHAEL RENTERIA

Officer Michael Renteria, a dedicated servant of the community and a pillar of strength for his family, faces the fight of his life. Born in San Francisco in 1961 and having served with distinction in law enforcement for over three decades, Michael’s journey brought him to Las Vegas in 1998, where he has since made his home with Dorene, his wife of 30 years. Michael’s career began with the San Francisco Police Department in 1984, transitioning to the Henderson Police Department, Corrections Division, in 2000, where he continues to serve with honor.

In August 2023, Michael’s life took an unexpected turn when he began experiencing severe pain in his lower left leg, leading to a harrowing discovery. An MRI revealed a capsule in his left tibia, and subsequent tests uncovered a mass in his right lung. After further examination, he was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer in his right kidney, which had metastasized to his lungs, right kidney, adrenal gland, and left tibia. Despite the diagnosis received on December 26, 2023, Michael has embarked on a rigorous treatment regimen, including specialty cancer medications and radiation therapy. While there has been some improvement, his mobility remains significantly affected, and his fight continues with ongoing treatments and evaluations.

Your contributions will help alleviate the financial burden of Michael’s medical expenses and support his family as they navigate this difficult journey. Let’s unite to support Officer Renteria and his family in their time of need.
