Help Baby Kinsley Heal: Support Officer Kirsten Squeo’s Family

Kinsley Squeo
On June 12th, 2024, the Squeo family experienced a devastating event that changed their lives. LVMPD Patrol Officer Kirsten Squeo’s 9-month-old daughter, Kinsley, became the victim of a horrific accident involving a baby bottle sterilizer, resulting in 2nd and 3rd-degree burns over 12–19% of her body.

Kinsley was rushed to the emergency room, where the severity of her burns necessitated immediate transfer to the burn unit at Sunrise Pediatric Hospital. That same day, Kinsley underwent skin graft surgery to begin the healing process. After three challenging days in the hospital, she was finally able to go home, her pain managed and her condition stabilized.

Since then, Kinsley has endured another skin graft surgery and continues to see her surgeon weekly for bandage changes and check-ups. The road ahead is long, with more surgeries and a strict regimen to protect her from the sun for at least 18 months. Despite these challenges, Kinsley remains incredibly strong and positive.

The Squeo family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from their extended family and community. Now, we have the opportunity to further support them during this trying time. Your generous donations will assist with Kinsley’s ongoing medical expenses and future surgeries, helping her on her journey to recovery.
